What Are the Most Common AC Problems?
Here are three common air conditioning issues and their causes.
AC Won’t Turn On
This is perhaps one of the most nerve-racking and common issues an AC-owner can experience. There are several issues that can cause an aircon to stop working including, faulty circuit breaker or fuse, dead thermostat’s batteries, or blocked evaporator coil.
Insufficient Cooling
Does your indoor air feel overly warm even when the cooling system is turned on? If yes, then your unit is not producing sufficient cool air. Most of the time this problem is usually caused by a broken or faulty AC fan and repair should follow.
A broken or faulty AC fan might be caused by bad capacitors, an overheated or damaged fan motor, dirt, bad fan belts, frozen coils, or rust.
Leaking Refrigerant/Freon
When you inspect your AC, do you sometimes notice brightly colored stains near it? Yes? This is a sign of a refrigerant leak. A refrigerant leak can cause your system to stop working or perform super-slowly. You need to get the leak fixed ASAP because it could lead to expensive repairs or replacement down the road.
More AC Problems:
- Strange noises
- Short cycling (i.e., the unit is turning on and off repeatedly)
- The compressor won’t run
- The coil is frozen
- Unusual odor from the unit
Our AC Repair Process: Accurate Diagnosis, Quick Repair
Step 1: Diagnosis
When our team visits your business/house, they’ll ask you questions about the AC issues that you’re experiencing. This will give them an idea of what could be causing the problem. Next, the diagnosis phase will start and this will help the team figure out the root cause of the problem.
After diagnosis, the team will let you know what is wrong with your aircon, recommend repairs, and update you about the costs.
Step 2: Repair Planning
If you authorize us to carry out the repairs, we’ll move to step two. At this stage, our technicians will come up with a plan that will ensure repairs are done quickly and correctly. Next, the actual repair will begin. Once all the fixing is complete, the technicians will perform a quality control inspection. This helps verify that all your AC issues have been resolved.
